What are some common obesity myths?Submitted by Joe Pipinco on Sun, 11/26/2006 - 5:34am.
This is interesting. An article out of Britain shows some common obesity myths. The argument is made is that there is no sound science for some of the most readily adopted beliefs. The four myths the list includes: 1) Being obese is a ticket for an early death. 2) Being obese comes from the junk food industry marketing and manufacturing of food. 3) You can lengthen your life if you eat less and lose weight. 4) A majority of people are obese. While there is no argument that the average weight of most industrialized citizens has risen, the science has yet to catch up. As I said, it's a very interesting read.
